PPC Management Agency in Stockport

Get to the top of Google today. Not in six months.

Pay-Per-Click Advertising

SEO is the long game. Pay-per-click is the short one — your advert appears at the top of the search results as soon as your campaign goes live, and you only pay when someone actually clicks.

Nettl of Stockport is a design studio on Heaton Moor Road with a Google-qualified PPC team behind us. You get a local person to sit down with, and a national team running the campaigns day to day.

Local Studio. National Team.

You’ll know exactly who’s running your ads

There are two ways most businesses buy PPC, and neither is great.

You can hire a freelancer who’s brilliant until they take on too much work or go quiet for a fortnight. Or you can sign up with a national agency, get passed to an account manager you’ve never met, and receive a dashboard link once a month.

We’re a third option. Your first conversation happens here in Heaton Moor, face to face, with someone who understands your business and your local market. The campaign work is then delivered by Nettl’s central PPC team — Google-qualified specialists who do nothing else all day — and reported back to you through us.

You get the accountability of a local supplier and the firepower of a team that manages hundreds of accounts. If something isn’t working, you know exactly which door to knock on.

How PPC Actually Works

Three things decide whether Google Ads makes you money.

Google Ads isn’t a case of “pay more, rank higher”. Google runs an auction every single time someone searches, and the winner isn’t always the highest bidder. Get these three things right and your clicks cost less and convert better. Get them wrong and you’ll spend a lot of money learning that lesson slowly.

Are you bidding on the right searches?

The single fastest way to burn a budget is to pay for clicks from people who were never going to buy from you.

Someone searching “emergency plumber Stockport” is a customer. Someone searching “how to fix a dripping tap” is not — they’re going to YouTube, and you’ve just paid for their visit. Same with “plumbing jobs”, “plumber salary”, or the person in Southampton who found you by accident.

Proper keyword research works out which searches your actual customers use, and negative keywords tell Google which searches to ignore. Most accounts we audit are missing a negative keyword list entirely, which usually means somewhere between a fifth and a third of the budget is being spent on traffic that will never convert.

Bidding on the right searches A search box above four search terms. Three are marked as relevant customer searches and one is struck through as an excluded negative keyword.

Are your ads worth clicking?

Google gives every keyword in your account a quality score. Its assessment of how relevant and useful your ad is to the person searching.

It matters because it directly changes what you pay. Two businesses can bid the same amount on the same keyword and one will pay noticeably less per click, simply because their ad and landing page match the search more closely. Quality score is the closest thing PPC has to a discount, and it’s earned by writing tightly targeted ads rather than one generic advert pointed at fifty keywords.

That’s why campaigns get built into small themed ad groups, each with its own wording, and why we run multiple versions of each advert and keep whichever earns its place.

Quality score and what you pay per click Two adverts side by side. The well matched advert scores five out of five and costs two coins per click. The poorly matched advert scores two out of five and costs five coins per click.

Does your landing page do its job?

You’ve paid for the click. Everything after that is down to your website.
If the page they land on is slow, awkward on a phone, requires further navigation, or simply doesn’t answer the question they searched for, they leave — and you’ve paid for nothing. Sending paid traffic to a homepage rather than a page about the exact thing they searched for is one of the most common and most expensive mistakes we see.

This is where being a web design studio rather than just a marketing agency genuinely helps. We can tell you what needs fixing, and then actually fix it — or build you a dedicated landing page designed to convert paid traffic. See our Web Design Services.

SEO or PPC?

The question everyone asks

PPC or SEO?

They’re not alternatives. They answer two different questions.

PPC answers: “How do I get customers this month?” You switch it on and traffic arrives. You control exactly what you spend, which searches you appear for, and where the clicks go. But the moment you stop paying, the traffic stops with it.

SEO answers: “How do I stop paying for every visitor?” It takes months rather than days, but rankings you’ve earned keep working whether or not you’re spending anything this month.

The businesses that get the best results from us usually run both. PPC to bring in work now and to test which search terms actually generate enquiries, and SEO to gradually take over the terms that prove themselves. The keyword data from a PPC campaign is genuinely useful intelligence for an SEO strategy, because it tells you what converts rather than just what gets searched.

If your budget only stretches to one, we’ll tell you honestly which one fits your situation better. Sometimes that answer is PPC. Sometimes it’s our SEO services. Sometimes it’s neither yet, because the website isn’t ready.

The same foundations on every package

What Google Ads management actually involves

Every package, including the entry-level one, is built on the same foundations. What changes as you move up is how many campaigns we can run, how many hours a month go into your account, and how much testing and refinement we do on top.

On Every Package

  • Keyword research — We work out which searches your customers are actually typing, and which of those are worth paying for.
  • Campaign build — We either build your account from scratch or audit and restructure the one you’ve already got.
  • Multiple keyword ad groups — Your keywords are split into tight themed groups so each one gets its own closely matched adverts, which Google rewards with cheaper clicks.
  • Analytics and tracking set-up — We connect Google Ads to your website properly, so we can see which clicks turn into enquiries and sales rather than just visits.
  • Ad copy written and implemented — We write the headlines and descriptions people see in the search results, and build them into your account.
  • Negative keywords — We tell Google which searches to ignore, so you stop paying for clicks that were never going to become customers.
  • Monitoring and optimisation — Dedicated hours every month spent actively working on your account: adjusting bids, pausing what’s failing, and expanding what’s working.
  • Monthly report — A plain-English summary each month: what was spent, what it brought in, and what we’re changing next.
  • Named Contact — You’ll always have someone to speak to about your campaign. We’re just an email away, or if you prefer face-to-face, then we’re available at our Stockport Studio.
  • Landing Page Feedback— If we can see that the page your ads point to is costing you enquiries we’ll let you know. We’re web designers, we have an eye for what works!

As you move up

  • Multiple campaigns (Enterprise and above) — Separate campaigns with their own budgets, so you can run different services, products or locations independently rather than pooling everything into one.
  • Ad copy variations (Enterprise and above) — More than one version of each advert, so Google can learn which wording earns the most clicks rather than us guessing.
  • Campaign split testing (Enterprise Plus) — Structured testing of adverts, keywords and settings against each other, keeping whichever wins.
  • Documented landing page review (Enterprise Plus) — A formal written review of the pages your ads point to, with specific changes to make and a priority order to make them in.

Our PPC Packages

Every package is built on the same foundations, keyword research, campaign build, conversion tracking, ad copy, negative keywords and a monthly report. What changes is how many campaigns we can run, how many hours a month go into your account, and how much testing and refinement sits on top.

The price above is our management fee. Your ad budget is separate and goes straight to Google.

The management fee covers the research, the ad writing, the ongoing optimisation and the reporting. The ad budget is what you pay Google for the clicks themselves, from your own account, with a ceiling you set — Google can’t spend more than you’ve told it to. So a business on Starter spending £400 a month with Google pays £300 to us and £400 to Google. Two invoices, two purposes, and you can see exactly where every pound went. Each package covers management up to the ad budget shown; spend more than that and you move up, because a bigger budget takes more time to manage well.

Getting Started:
From first conversation to live campaign

1

Free Review

We look at what you’re currently doing, existing Google Ads account, your website, and the searches your competitors are bidding on. If we don’t think PPC is right for you yet, we’ll say so.

2

Keyword and budget plan

We work out which searches are worth targeting, what they’re likely to cost per click in your market, and what ad budget would be realistic to see meaningful results.

3

Build

Account structure, ad groups, adverts, negative keywords, and conversion tracking all set up properly. If you already have an account, we audit and restructure it rather than starting again.

4

Launch and learn

The first few weeks generate the data everything else is based on. Early performance is almost never final performance.

5

Optimise and report

Every month: bids adjusted, wasted spend cut, new search terms added, adverts tested. Plus a report you can actually understand.

We Focus on Searches that turn into customers

Our packages are built around Google Search Ads, the text adverts that appear at the very top of the results page when someone searches for what you sell.

That’s deliberate. Search ads catch people at the exact moment they’re looking, which is why they consistently produce the best return for local and service businesses. Someone typing “private dentist Heaton Moor” into their phone has already decided they want a dentist. You’re not persuading them to want something; you’re making sure they find you rather than the practice down the road.

Social advertising works differently. It puts you in front of people who fit your customer profile but weren’t actively looking. It’s excellent for building awareness and for products people buy on impulse, and it’s a different discipline with a different budget.

If that’s a better fit for what you sell, or you want to run both, we handle that too.

Frequently Asked Questions

No. And that’s a good thing, because it means you’re in control of it. The package price is what you pay us to manage your campaigns. The ad spend is paid separately, directly to Google, and you set the maximum. Each package covers management up to a certain monthly ad budget.

It depends entirely on how competitive your industry is and what a customer is worth to you. Clicks in some sectors cost 50p; in others they cost £15. During the free review we’ll estimate what a click is likely to cost in your market, so you can work out what a realistic monthly budget looks like before you commit to anything.

Following a keyword research phase, ads can be live within days of the account being built, and clicks start arriving immediately. But the first four to six weeks are as much about gathering data as generating sales. That’s when we learn which search terms actually convert for you and which ones to cut. Judge PPC on month three, not week one.

Yes. The account is yours, in your name, and the historical data stays with you. We manage it for you rather than hiding it inside an agency account you can’t access. If you ever leave, you keep everything.

Yes, and it’s often the quickest win available. Existing accounts usually have historical data worth keeping, along with structural problems worth fixing. We’ll audit what’s there, tell you what’s working, and restructure the rest rather than throwing it away.

If you need enquiries this month, PPC. If you want to stop paying for every visitor eventually, SEO. Most businesses benefit from both, and running PPC first gives you real data about which keywords convert, which makes the SEO work considerably better targeted.

Yes, though that’s paid social rather than paid search and it’s covered by our social media marketing packages. Search advertising catches people who are already looking for you; social advertising puts you in front of people who fit your profile but weren’t searching. They work well together, but they’re separate budgets and separate skills.

Three months, with 30 days’ notice after that. The three months isn’t there to tie you in – it’s there because a campaign that gets switched off after four weeks never gets past the learning phase, and neither of us would learn anything useful from it.

Not necessarily, but the page your ads point to has to be capable of turning a visitor into an enquiry. If it isn’t, we’ll tell you during the review, and being a web design studio, we can either fix the existing page or build a dedicated landing page for the campaign.

Yes. Our studio is on Heaton Moor Road, and you’re welcome to come in. We work with businesses across Stockport, Heaton Moor, Didsbury, Cheadle and Greater Manchester, and plenty further afield who just prefer working with a real studio.
